This centuries - old design has found new relevancy in the modern age, particularly in this new era of working from home.

Internally, there is a capacious interior compartment to store documents, devices and stationary.  A removable divider keeps the contents in order and ever wondering cables and chargers safely corralled.  The main compartment is comfortably large enough to store laptops, tablets and even an Astrohaus Freewrite.

 

Externally, the angled lid raises laptops and tablets to a more ergonomic height.  Breadboard ends allow for wood movement with the seasons while ensuring stability and keep the lid flat.  The hand cut dovetails lend the piece an authentic, artisanal touch while keeping it structurally sound.

 

This practical piece turns any surface into an instant workspace, but also provides an invaluable place to pack away work items when its time to 'switch off'.
